Q: What is the difference between Florida Patio and the other guys?

Jimmy Stewart: Well, here is a popular brand of furniture you can buy at any of your “Mass Market” stores. It’s imported from China. It’s steel, you can tell by the rust in it. Then it uses plastic components. Not all aluminum components like we make our furniture. There are steel nuts and bolts instead of stainless steel nuts and bolts like we use. It’s thinner a little smaller, a little shorter, everything they can do to hike up price. I imagine to make it easier for shipping. And it just doesn’t hold up well! The customer sent this in to us to fix it. She bought it less than a year ago. Unfortunately I had to adviser her.it’s really not worth fixing. She decided to buy some furniture that would last many, many years from us. Instead of them using solid construction it’s so much easier for them to do it piece by piece. Which, that way they can store it and ship it over here. But what it doesit causes the frame to be completely sub standard than if it were one long piece. Here is one of the Chaises that we make. Every thing is solid construction. There is no break. It’s one solid long piece. It’s powder coated. The only thing on this chair that isn’t aluminum. Is the stainless steel nuts and bolts. And the nylon end glides.so it doesn’t hurt the patio deck. These can be replaced every three or four years to keep your deck nice!

Q: Free Shipping…..What’s The Catch? Jimmy Stewart: There’s no free lunch! Nothing is free!. The cost of those chaises would be 100 to 150 dollars less if they charged the regular price of the shipping. Which generally, what I found, on a say 1500 to 3000 dollar order, it’s about 15 to 20 dollar per chaise lounge to ship your furniture to you. So‚ there’s no free lunch. All they’ve done is doubled the price and included the maximum amount of (the shipping) would cost them. And they actually make money on freight. We don’t try to make money on freight here we just want to cover the cost on freight. So.. our price on freight, you’ll pay so much less and get far a superior product! On most that I have seen‚ the furniture is from China and is substandard in my opinion. It’s .047 gauge aluminum. It’s not .063! The use (.047 gauge material) and break it down into 2 or three parts instead of one long piece. It’s generally a “come on”! You think you’re getting a good deal but your really not getting a deal at all!

Jimmy Stewart: We weld “tabs” on the bottom of our chaises. “Skid Stock”, “Solid Skid Stock”! So when your dragging your chaise on your pool deck it wont wear through and destroy the structural integrity of the frame itself! It will only wear on the “wear tabs”! Lasting years and years longer than the companies who don’t put a “wear tab” on it. We put them on ALL of our furniture so that it last a long, long time.

Jimmy Stewart: Well we use four different bottom supports! Most companies use maybe one or two. We use as many as we can possibly get in there! This furniture is almost like a tank! Three or four people could jump up and down on it and you wouldn’t hurt it a bit! This is for high use resorts and theme parks.

I have very good people who care just like I do.and generally it never comes to that! But sometimes people want to talk to the bossand I’m here for them. Jimmy Stewart: Yeah! Here’s some custom work we do. Like I said we do all types of custom table that people send us to do. And we actually use a plasma cutter to cut out whatever design they want. This happens to be the customer’s logo. And then we put it in a solid aluminum top. Paint the logo (or powder coat) a different color. Then cover it with colored or clear plexiglass. They have these all around their deck. It gives them their own look, unique from anyone else on the planet! And we do this very affordably for the customer. So it’s available to them and it’s priced real well to them! Then they have a good strong structural table that puts their name out there. and their logo!
